Precise-ITC Demonstrates Eco-system Ready for 400G Ethernet Early Adopters

Ottawa Canada – Precise-ITC, a global leader in high-speed Ethernet IP, today announced successful demonstration of the 400GE/200GE PCS/MAC with the 400GbE/200GbE Ethernet test system from Spirent. This additional Ethernet speed is enabled by new 50G electrical interfaces, which allows the deployment of cost-effective 50Gbps links from high performance servers to a new generation of switches and routers. Proven PCS/MAC IP is available for early adopters of the IEEE802.3bs standard to kick-start deployment within the data center or out to the cloud.

“This technology demonstration shows the eco-system for 400GbE is maturing and that Precise-ITC is recognized as an integral part of that eco-system. We’re going to see 400GbE and 200GbE take-off in response to the insatiable demand for more bandwidth on mobile devices, high-speed data center servers, internet-enabled entertainment (especially video), cloud computing and social media. Not only does this validate our IP, it also validates implementation of the last standards development in the IEEE.” said Murray Baldock, VP of Business Development at Precise-ITC.

“Streaming video, gaming, mobile, and social media services will all be drivers for the adoption of 400GbE and 200GbE, ushering in a host of new interconnect options with faster media used by next-generation hyper-scale datacenters, enterprises and cloud-based service providers. Spirent has been involved with the development of the latest IEEE standards for high-speed Ethernet to meet this growing demand. By testing with Spirent’s 200GbE test modules, our customers will be able to accelerate product development and be first-to-market on a consistent basis with innovative, high-performance products,” stated Abhitesh Kastuar, General Manager of Spirent’s Cloud and IP Business Unit.

Precise-ITC will be demonstrating interoperability with the Spirent 200GE test system on the Xilinx development platform along with optical modules from Optelian and Acacia Communications in booth 4141 at OFC2017.
